I think Reykjavik should be the City of Eternal Light. The sun set here for an hour and a half total. Which worked out well for us to be trapsing through town until 10:30 at night.
Two days here and we saw the town. Our first day here we went straight from the ship to the Blue Lagoon. It was almost 90. We spent the day in the silica hot spring and Ryan even got a sunburn. (I hid in the shade under a rock, literally). We had a beautiful lunch at Lava then headed back to the ship to change and hit the town. We had dinner in the old quarter and then walked up Skólavörðustígur, The Rainbow Street. We did a little shopping and checking out the town and walked up to the national cathedral. We listened to concert by the Thisted Choir for Men and Boys. Wow! And the pipe organ. A great performance. We stopped at a pub for a beer and then back to the ship for the night.
The next day we hopped on the bus and took it downtown. We walked all over visiting museums of all sorts: art, anatomical, and historical. We caught the tour bus that afternoon and saw the rest of the city on the way back to the ship.
